The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Phoenix (LWVMP) is affiliated with the League of Women Voters of Arizona and the League of Women Voters - US. We provide nonpartisan information on the election process, on voter registration, and on local candidates and ballot issues through public forums and voter guides. We also educate and advocate on issues based on League public policy positions, including voting rights, elections administration, redistricting, money in politics, women's rights, climate change, and environment.
Each League is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed, active participation in our government. It’s important to note that the LWV does not support or oppose candidates or parties. The LWVMP focuses on three key areas:
Advocacy - We thoroughly research and take positions on public policy, and work to influence policy by educating the public and lawmakers.Voter Services - We offer voter registration, voting and elections information, and other tools to empower voters.
Forums & Debates - LWV is well-known and respected for our unbiased forums and debates featuring candidates, issues, and ballot measures.
The grassroots influence of LWV is strengthened by a unified understanding of the responsibilities of being a League member as well as what members can expect from LWV. The Member Rights and Responsibilities policy ensures that all active members of the League of Women Voters, including Board members, members of state and local Leagues, members-at-large, and Inter-League Organizations, are committed to maintaining the mission and integrity of LWV.
