| Dear ~~first_name~~~~last_name~~,
Stand Up for Democracy: Join the No Kings March on March 28
“In America, we do not have kings. Power belongs to the people — and democracy depends on citizens who are willing to show up.”

Across the country, Americans are preparing to gather for the nationwide No Kings Day of Action on Saturday, March 28. Communities throughout the Phoenix metro area will join this peaceful mobilization to affirm democratic values, the rule of law, and the fundamental principle that government derives its power from the people.
For more than a century, the League of Women Voters has worked to empower voters and defend democracy. Moments like this remind us why civic participation matters. Democracy is strongest when people are informed, engaged, and willing to stand together in support of the freedoms that define our nation.
Across Arizona, local organizations are coordinating peaceful gatherings where community members can demonstrate their commitment to democratic institutions and civic participation.
Whether you march, attend a rally, or stand in solidarity with your neighbors, your presence sends a clear message: democracy is worth showing up for.
Register here: https://www.nokings.org/
Events are expected across the Phoenix Metro area, including Tempe, Mesa, and Chandler. Participants are encouraged to bring friends, wear comfortable clothing, and engage in peaceful, respectful civic action.
“As League members, we believe democracy works best when everyone participates. I encourage those who feel called to do so to join a peaceful gathering on March 28 and continue the League’s proud tradition of civic engagement.”

Urgent call for volunteers
Vote 411:
Arizona’s primary elections will be held on July 21, 2026, following a new law that moves the primary to the second-to-last Tuesday in July. These elections will shape the state’s future on issues ranging from voting access and public education to water policy and democratic accountability.
To help ensure voters have the clear, accurate, nonpartisan information they need, the League is recruiting volunteers to support VOTE411, our trusted voter guide that provides unbiased candidate information directly to the public. Volunteers are needed to write fair candidate questions, update office descriptions, analyze ballot measures, promote VOTE411 through outreach and media, speak at community events, and assist with essential behind-the-scenes work.
Your time and skills will help empower voters and strengthen democracy across Arizona. Take a moment to complete the brief VOTE411 Volunteer Survey and tell us how you’d like to contribute. Vote411 Volunteer Survey
Ballot Analysis Teams
The League of Women Voters of Arizona is recruiting volunteers to serve on Ballot Analysis Teams to help develop clear, unbiased explanations of the ballot measures expected on the 2026 ballot, including multiple legislative referrals. Volunteers will work within a strictly nonpartisan framework to research each measure and help draft balanced pro and con explanations that inform voters without advocating. Team members may also be asked to help prepare League arguments that could be submitted in support of or opposition to specific measures, consistent with League positions. This is a short-term commitment, with arguments needed by June and broader analysis completed by August for inclusion in VOTE411 and printed voter education materials. If you are interested in contributing your research, writing, or analytical skills, please email lwvazadvocacy@gmail.com to volunteer.

Stay Engaged This Legislative Session
The legislative session is far from over—and neither is our advocacy. The bills listed below have advanced to the second chamber, which means they will be heard again, and your voice still matters. As these measures move through new committees and floor votes, we must continue to show up by submitting Request to Speak (RTS), tracking amendments, and urging lawmakers to either support or oppose these proposals.
Momentum can shift quickly in the second chamber. Testimony, public pressure, and timely action can make the difference between a bill moving forward, being amended, or stopping altogether. We encourage you to follow these bills closely, stay informed on upcoming hearings, and be ready to act when alerts go out.
What you can do now:
-
Monitor hearing schedules and agendas
-
Submit RTS to support or oppose at upcoming hearings
-
Share updates with your networks and encourage others to participate
Our collective engagement is critical at this stage of the process. Let’s keep the pressure on and make sure our priorities are represented every step of the way.
